Jump Start & Kidsport SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
All Dance Works scholarship applicants must also apply for the Jump Start & Kidsport scholarship
Please note that we will also need a copy of yours and your spouse/common law partner's tax returns for 2017. We need to see your names and your net income but you may blank out your SIN and any other sensitive information. You are required to fill in this application form as well as the online registration form for each child you are applying for.
Full Scholarship - This means Dance Works Academy covers the full cost of the student's class or classes for the year. Costumes, however, will still need to be paid for at a cost of $50-95 per class. We can arrange payment options if needed. Payment is due by 1st September unless organized with the DWA office.
Partial Scholarship - This means you will be responsible for a portion of your fees which will be determined based on your income. Costumes will also need to be paid for at a cost of $50-$95 per class. We can, however, offer payment options. Payment is due by the 1st Sept unless organized with the DWA office.
Honesty Clause - Dance Works makes every effort to give scholarships to as many dancers in need as possible. Because we supply these scholarships ourselves without outside support from funding programs we must be careful in how we select recipients. In order to reach as many of those most in need we ask that all applicants only apply if true financial need is in place. Every persons perceptive of need is slightly different. Students who are actively paying for multiple extra curricular activities elsewhere will not be eligible for Dance Works Scholarships, but are encouraged to apply for the JumpStart scholarships through Canadian Tire.

procedures
We process applications in the order we receive them. Therefore early application is advised. Once we have received your forms we will decide, firstly, if we can offer your child a scholarship and then whether it will be a full or partial. We endeavor to help as many students as we can each dance year. If you receive a partial scholarship and you feel that you can not afford the partial payments then you may appeal the decision by contacting us.
Parents of children that are accepted into the scholarship program are expected to give 2-3 hours (per scholsrahip class) of their time throughout the dance year to help with fundraising events so that we might offer more scholarships to help more dancers.
