The aspire program is suitable for any students wishing to secure employment at the studio as a Teachers Assistant. The course will certify students through the Acrobatic Arts. Students assisting in any genre of dance are recommended to complete this course. Although it was developed with Acro teaching in mind, the core material of the course is relevant for all dance styles.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
There is no cost to you, other than your time! In exchange for your 1 assisting class per week, GDC will cover all associated costs of your Assistant Teachers Certification, including your coarse fee with Acrobatic Arts, Mentorship Hours & Your Final Assessment.
The assisting class will be worked around the assistant teachers dance class schedule.
If students are interested in assisting in more classes than the 1 per week for their course requirement, GDC does also have paid positions available for additional assisting hours per week.

Candidates have 3 months to complete the online course work once it has been started. Acrobatic Arts charges a $25 fee if students require an extension.
Future Benefits
Any students who become certified Assistant Teachers are eligible to complete their Module 1 Teaching certification once they are 18 without the need for any other pre requisites. The skills learned through the mentorship of this program will help prepare students to easily transition to Module 1 teaching certification. Certification in Acrobatic Arts is globally recognized and allows its teachers to instruct anywhere in the world. For those students who may not want to pursue a career as a dance teacher but are looking to work while attending University, teaching will allow them the opportunity to earn well above minimum wage and not during school hours. An ideal job for post secondary students!

WHAT ABOUT OTHER DANCE STYLES?
For those students interested in apprenticing as teachers assistants in dance styles other than Acrobatics, you will complete the Acrobatics Arts Teaching Assistant Course but your weekly assisting class will be in the dance genre of your choice (Ballet, Hip Hop, etc) and you will work with the teacher you are assisting for genre specific mentorship.
