JR RECITAL - Q&A
WHEN & HOW TO ARRIVE (WHAT TO WEAR WITH YOUR COSTUME)
When to arrive: All children should arrive no later than 45 minutes before the show start time.
Costume will be handed out upon your arrival.
Children should arrive with their hair tied back and off their face. Buns or Pony tails are recommended for girls with long hair.
All Ballet students should wear pink ballet tights and ballet slippers. Girls in Pink Slippers, boys can wear pink or black with white ballet socks.
Acro students are in bare feet and can have bare legs OR nude footless tights (no footed tights please as they are a slipping hazard)
Hip Hop Students should wear runners
Tap & Musical Theatre students are in Tap Shoes and white socks.
Make up is not required but a little blush & lip gloss can help a dancers face look less washed out under the stage lights. We do use minimal stage lights for the little ones.
WHERE TO GO
Dancers should be signed in at the door, downstairs in the greenroom. The entrance is located around back of the theatre.
Parents will need to sign children out when they pick them back up from the greenroom at the end of the show.
If you would like your child to join you in the audience after their dance or dances are finished please let the door guard know when you sign them in and we will deliver them to you from the stage after their dance.
Otherwise your child will be waiting for you in the greenroom at the end of the show.
IN THE GREENROOM
Please do not send children with juice, sticky treats or messy snacks of any kind. IN order to keep costumes uncompromised and show ready we must avoid any accidental stains or oopsies. Also please no allergy triggering snacks (Nuts, Eggs, Etc)
Good snacks to send are things like: Apple Slices, Crackers, Water Bottle
Children will be monitored by greenroom volunteers and kept busy with colouring and cartoons.
COSTUMES
Costume rentals will be stored at the theatre. Students will be given their costume when they arrive by the costume manager.
For parents with children in multiple dances:
If you child needs assistance changing from one costume to the next costume please let the door monitor know when you sign your child in. Parents are able to come down to the greenroom at Intermission to help with their child's costume change as well if you prefer.
